derby predictions
Can you believe? Hillary and I are at the Kentucky Derby!
Here are my predictions for the weekend. (Prepared on Thursday morning before departure..)
Unfavorable expectations:
1. La Quinta will be the saddest part of this story for sure. The rooms are priced at 4-5 times what they charge every single other weekend of the year ~ just like the Masters. Annoying. I considered packing my own sheets, but the thought of my sheets touching the La Quinta bed is basically equal to sleeping on La Quinta sheets. I opted to spare the space while packing. With any luck sleep will ultimately prevail thanks to the fierce Derby schedule we have planned.
2. Rain in forecast.
3. Shuttles are stupid.
4. Hats are stupid.
Promising expectations:
1. Friday morning brunch
2. Kentucky Oaks
3. Friday night party
4. Saturday morning brunch
5. Kentucky Derby
