WHITE ELEPHANT PALM BEACH

Remember my mother/daughter trip with my daughter Hillary last April? Miami, Van Gogh and Palm Beach? So fun! You may recall, I ordered a pair of paper maché art pieces I had seen at the Decorator Showhouse from Casa Gusto, and it was time for another mother/daughter trip to pick them up. This time, with my mother!

We stayed at the White Elephant, which is fairly new to Palm Beach. We have stayed at the White Elephant in Nantucket, so we were familiar with the hotel, and it was as charming as expected. The restaurant in the hotel, Lola 41, is also in Nantucket, and one of our favorites.

The contemporary lobby has a festive and fresh vibe. The building dates to the 1920s and is a historic landmark. The fully restored Mediterranean architecture with modern updates embraces the island lifestyle.

The size of the hotel was especially appealing with only 13 deluxe rooms and 19 suites.

Loved the elephants on each door :)

I kept shoo-ing my poor mother away so I could take photos, but she still managed to make it into a mirror shot! LOL

This was the balcony outside our room which overlooks the outdoor eating area and the dip pool.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Oh, they have BMWs you can borrow for your outings! We did not partake, but a fun perk!

We ate at Buccan and I’m happy to report that it was added to our favorite restaurants of all time list. My mom is hilarious and mostly eats like a child, so this menu was a little outside her comfort zone. She immediately decided upon opening the menu that there was nothing she would like. Luckily, she decided to be adventurous, and we chose some things she could try, and guess what? She loved every single thing we ordered including Mexican Grilled “Street” Cauliflower, Bacon Wrapped Peaches, Shrimp Stuffed Squash Blossoms, Spicy Pork Tacos and Ricotta Cavatelli. So delicious!
