PARIS DAY 3 VERSAILLES

Thanksgiving day was to be spent at the Palace of Versailles with dinner reservations already planned at the hotel. After breakfast, we jumped in an uber and headed to the palace. We had lunch reservations at Ore, on property. I took almost 300 photos, and we didn’t even visit the gardens! It was cold, and not the best time to see the gardens. . . next time!

I adored that yellow paint color mixed with the stone and the red brick!

I guess Thanksgiving day was a good choice ~ our photos look like we rented the place out! Considering it is the second most visited monument behind the Louvre, with about 10 million visitors annually, it was unusually empty!

The amount of extra large paintings throughout is remarkable.

The stone steps are worn on the sides from heavy use. . .

The painted ceilings are really incredible!

As is everything else.

The War Room

The Hall of Mirrors deserves it’s title as the most famous room in the Palace.

It is about the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen with that gorgeous blue in the ceiling?

We were there all day. We were exhausted and ready to get back for our Thanksgiving reservations at Saint Germain Restaurant at the hotel. It was probably the most memorable Thanksgiving this family has had/will have in a while. Thanks for following along. . . Day 4 is next!
