MY GARDEN AND MORE UTAH

I knew I was missing some of the photos I took from Utah! When I downloaded the latest batch of photos I took today, there they were ~ a few more beautiful images from our trip to Utah. See for yourself!

Whether chock full of a variety of annuals, or a sea of ivy, the grounds in downtown Salt Lake City are always manicured and beautiful.

Ok, back to the intended subject matter for this post, a garden update. After the hail storm this spring, the yard looked like a complete disaster. My hosta were destroyed, my hydrangea were destroyed, but shockingly, the yard has made a pretty good recovery. Granted, we were without a beautiful yard for a few weeks, but things are looking pretty good!

These plants ~ I think they’re called bougainvillea, and they were an odd choice for these planters on my patio ~ were literally sticks after the storm. But look at them now!

For some reason, I was drawn to these guys and thought they were charming at the nursery, so I brought them home. They were only $40 each, and we planted them the day before the storm. I posted a couple images on instagram, going on about how wonderful the weather was, and how beautiful the yard looked, and then, surprise! Hail!

Here are a few more views of the backyard…

Also, found the most beautiful blue hydrangea at the grocery store! I absolutely love when they get in a batch of gorgeous plants.. It’s so easy to bring them home and plop them right in the planters.

Look at me posting more often! I think the new look for the blog is working! Now, I need to update the shop website so it looks like it belongs with the blog.

Hope you are having a wonderful summer!!
