HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
We were very busy this weekend getting the house decorated for the holidays. As always, I documented some of the activities on instagram, and had a couple requests to do a post showing more of the house.
Perfect timing since I’m totally in the decorating mood! I decided to do a series of posts including the living room, family room, dining room, and outside decor. If nothing else, it keeps the house picked up while I am constantly taking photos.
The living room sits in the middle of our house and we pass through it to go from our bedroom or office on one end of the house to the kitchen/family room on the other end. Because of this, we truly enjoy the living room. It’s not a room saved for formal use, it is the center of our home.
I’ve had the green pots on the mantle and those candlesticks since we moved in. The candlesticks were cheap from Home Goods, but I liked the shape. I had them painted to look more interesting, more like a pair of antique Italian candlesticks I had seen at some point.
For Christmas, I added the stockings, the angels on either end, and of course, the Czech christmas trees. Those were a HUGE hit! I sold over one hundred trees! (shop here - there are just a few left from this batch)
Don’t worry, I found another stash to add to the shop after the first of the year. They are so festive! This is the “green” collection. (I have a small collection in the living room, dining room and family room!)
If you squint, you can see the pair of triple topiaries with lights and bows out on the patio.
Here you can see part of my banister ball collection. Also, a blue matchstriker - my absolute favorite decorating accessory! (shop here)
Another matchstriker ~ I’m obsessed with them.
Looking into the living room from the kitchen…
Ok, now I have to get my tree up. Follow me on instagram for updates! I will move this tiered table and the chair sitting next to it to make room for the tree.
It’s a process, but I’m especially looking forward to it this year because we didn’t put a tree up last year!
For my next post, I’ll do the dining room, and you will be able to see the tree from that room.
Here’s a sneak peek..
Ready for December!
