THE CHANTICLEER
After seeing The Chanticleer in Nantucket featured in a few instagram posts, it was on my list to visit, and it did not disappoint.
Walking through the arched entrance, you are immediately surrounded by the charm of the Rose Garden courtyard. Tables are placed along each side of the restaurant, with a canopy of very mature rose vines for shade. And beauty.
The Chanticleer was originally a small tea house at the turn of the century. The canopy of rose vines overhead look like they’ve been around about that long as they are pretty established, you could say.
The lush gardens provide organic herbs, flower, berries and seasonal vegetables for the kitchen. Seasonal menus also celebrate local offerings of land and sea.
If you aren’t lucky enough to score a table in the garden, you will have to settle for these views from upstairs…
The entrance is an instagram post fantasy…
Our lunch was everything I imagined! The weather was perfect, the food was outstanding, and the atmosphere magical.
