HOLIDAYS ARE HERE
The pumpkins were a hit. I’ll have to order more next year. I only have a couple left, and there were a few disappointed customers who wanted a different size or design. It’s hard to know what to order in regular times, but during a pandemic, it was especially difficult. Apparently, there are people who still want to look at a pretty pumpkin in the comfort of their homes. :)
I have been stocking up on goods for the holiday season. In the past, customers have started holiday shopping in October/November, and that seems to be ringing true, even this year. It has taken me a few years to get into the sync of ordering in time to have the inventory at the right times for these organized and early bird shoppers!
All this to say, here are a few fun things in the shop for holiday shopping!
As many of you know, the majority of my business is selling aptware through special orders. This is especially wonderful considering selling aptware and French pottery is the main reason I even started this online shop. I literally can’t keep up with the orders. The vendors in France are oftentimes a one-woman show - not a factory that can mass produce product. They work on their own time, and it is not as fast as my customers would like. But the product is always worth the wait.
I do have several special pieces in stock, and lots more on the way! However, the shipments that are coming soon are largely spoken for. I have also recently ordered lots of new marbleware from France like a set of these gorgeous plates.
Outside of aptware, I sell lots of museum bees, placemats/napkins, and vases. Oh, and lots of the Perle glassware.
The Lucy Cope matchstrikers are becoming a hot ticket item - especially for holidays or special occasions.
The Czech Christmas trees have been quite the sensation. I’ve been posting about them on instagram a lot. (Follow me here - I spend quite a bit more time there than I do here.)
As I explained in my instagram post, the vintage Czech trees are wonderful, sparkly vintage Christmas tree stands, exhibiting the elaborate designs Czechs are famous for. Between the mid 1920’s and the 1950’s, the jewels made in Czechoslovakia were heavily soldered with copper and pot metal, which is a mixture of semi-precious metals. That is what you see on the back of these super sparkly trees.
Many of the stands look as if they may have been repaired, and are not pristine. You can see the copper colors. (Part of the charm)
There is no right or wrong as far as displaying the trees.. Some are amazing as a stand alone accent, and they are also fun to group together. A well thought out collection is extra special, however, you can certainly mix any of them. Note the size differences when shopping as they range from 4” tall to 15” tall.
This multicolor, smaller stones trio is spectacular!
Love this trio with the poinsettia tops.
A gorgeous multicolor pair with large stones.
These are beautiful together, but each would be fantastic as a stand alone holiday accent!
Love a collection of green trees.
There seems to be a tree for everyone.
If you are still wanting a pumpkin, there are a couple left, and you can use the discount code freeship at checkout for free shipping. I’ll tell you what, they are definitely appropriate and pretty enough to leave out through November - not too halloweeny :) And you’ll be ahead of the game next year! (shop here)
Happy October to you all.
