summer planting
I have attempted to take some photos of plantings in our yard, but the lighting has not been cooperative... Here is a collection of photos that will give you an idea of what's going on, but don't judge ~ I'm not a professional photographer!
This is the front pot outside my dining room window... Taken from inside the dining room!
Vickie Lea decided I had too many boxwood, and when this one died, she suggested a caladium... I said fine, but only white. I love it!
I sort of have a theme in the front yard of white and green...
I bought this white pot as a last minute replacement a couple years ago for a broken terra-cotta pot. I thought I would paint it, but I never have. I don't really like it, but I don't have the interest or energy to plan/design a paint project.... So white it is for another summer!
In the backyard, we plant red, pink, and white begonias in the beds...
We transplanted this lily of the valley from my mother-in-law's house almost 20 years ago... It's planted by the air conditioners, which seems weird, but we didn't have a backyard design at that time, and we had to get it before her house sold. It does quite well every year!
Still waiting to fill this pair of antique lead pots... Maybe ferns?
The ivy on the fence has really taken off this year!
Vickie Lea stores my boxwoods all winter for me. I really look forward to the boxwood delivery in the spring!
I love the vibrant color in this photo taken this morning... It was bright and gorgeous out!
Back to the front of the house... white begonias...
After a walk with Tucker this morning... He works nicely with the white and green theme...
I usually put a pot on that stone piece below with ivy... I still have a few things to do, but I am loving the lush green everywhere right now. The birds are really happy and chirping away!
I still need to take photos of the furniture and pillows! I avoided them for this photo shoot because we have been sitting outside so much, and I didn't have time to tidy up... Next time!
Happy Summer!
