inspired home: favorite house part 1
So excited to share this series of posts! Although I've had the opportunity to share a taste of this fabulous home before, I've fantasized about photographing the inside in it's entirety. As fate would have it, my fantasy became a reality ~ on my birthday no less!
The grand entrance...
Upon entering this gorgeousness of a home, the sheer grandeur and meticulous detail are immediately obvious. The incomparable level of craftsmanship, the commitment to quality, and the taste level come together beautifully in comfortable living spaces fit for a king and queen, but not pretentious or stuffy.
That chandelier!
Foyer
Dining Room
Especially love the pair of lanterns and the ceiling treatment...
Fortuny Fabric = Fabulous
An antique lovers dream...
The windows are spectacular throughout the house, and although some of the photos are dark looking into the light, I couldn't keep them from you...
Love the escutcheons on the french doors, and the Kaneko piece is amazing...
A piece from the front of a ship hangs between a pair of charming light fixtures...
Living Room
Look at the pieces over the doorways!
Check out the detail on the drapery...
Love the seating area in front of the stunning fireplace!
The homeowner's Great Uncle Homer Conant, famed Scenic Designer and Costumer Designer, is responsible for the painting over the couch... You may recognize Conant's work on the covers of the Theatre magazine now called Playbill. In an effort to give Mr. Schubert a better perspective on what scenery would look like for his plays, Homer Conant did many paintings of sets to assist. So cool!
To die for fabrics!
Through the doorway is the Conservatory...
The Conservatory
This room belongs on the cover of Architectural Digest. I love everything about it!
