inspired home: a timeless beauty

When friends and family come for a visit to Omaha, I often drive by this gorgeousness of a house.

It is the epitome of regal and stately and courtly. A house admired by many...

What a thrill when I met the new owners at a dinner party of a mutual friend. I was not shy.

A few months later, we had a date for photos to be taken. I barely made it in the driveway and my window was rolled down, camera out the window, snapping away :)

I mean...

Majestic.

I adore the entry. The paneling is fantastic, and there are arched doorways all around ~ to the kitchen, the dining room, the stairway straight ahead, the living room, the den/office, and the powder bath. LOVE the center table!

Looking back at the entrance...

To the left is the entry to the kitchen... one of the only major renovations to the house.

A sleek, modern design feels fresh and super smart.

The view looking back at the arched opening to the entrance hall...

Look at the panels on either side of the stovetop...

The right side is a door to the pantry!

Very cool.

Around the corner to the left of the stovetop is the laundry room/mud room. Perfect!

Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining area...

Here you can see the powder bath from the entry...

Yes, Hermes wallpaper :)

And an Hermes scarf for window treatment!

Here you can see the entrances to the den/office and the family room...

The paneling is original and in pristine condition...

Love the modern mixed in...

The owners loved the retro bar with a "Madmen" vibe...

How about those light fixtures?

More paneling!

A beautiful staircase!

Wait until you see the garden!!

Love this open upstairs landing...

A renovated bathroom...

Charming bedrooms with original hardware and all the appeal associated with an old home...

Looking down at the foyer from the stairs...

Love these panels!

This hallway leads to the backyard.

Which is more appropriately termed a park.

Coming up next!!
