hermes avalon blanket
A friend called on me recently in her quest for new pillows. After staring at gorgeous fabric samples splayed out on her sofa, contemplating the possibilities, my friend wished aloud for Hermes pillows. She wondered if they were hard to make... ??
I quickly informed her that not only are the Hermes pillows she wondered about online and easy to order, she could have them in her family room in a matter of days to try them out for sure. In fact, I own the Avalon blanket in the same color she was considering, and I ordered it online.
Interestingly enough, this episode spurred a search on Pinterest and produced a post... (this, friends, is why I have a blog)
Feast your eyes on these beautiful examples of the Avalon Blanket used in different design scenarios...
My favorite, and the one I chose for myself, the ecru/camel...
Mine looks like it needs a touch of ironing...
Ecru/Dark Gray
Love it in this room with the Bruncshwig & Fils Les Touches fabric!
Ecru/Pumpkin is a classic choice...
Love the camel and black!
What a pampered little prince or princess to be exposed to Hermes at such a tender age...
And a few more colors...
My favorites of all time are these bright fuchsia/red and turquoise/lime options. I have never seen them in person, but of course I'm drawn to the saturated color. Not sure if they are even available anymore?
The current option that is most similar to the above favorites is the vermillion/fire red...
If the wool and cashmere blend is not your thing, here's another option ~ The Knit Avalon...
I apologize in advance because although these blankets seem like an easy choice for added flair to almost any room, they are not what you could refer to as an economical or practical choice for a blanket. Nevertheless, they are smart and sophisticated and definitely enhance the design and aesthetic of a space. If you are so inclined, here's the link to the Hermes purchase page.
They are pretty fantastic. Oh dear... I just found this one. WOW
