check check

Apparently, and I know I've mentioned this previously, I am obsessed with check fabric. In fact, each room in my house bears a fabric with the square pattern I love, and in some cases, there are multiple specimens in one room. 

Let's start in the kitchen/family room...

Love this multi colored check fabric for throw pillows...

A mustard yellow check for the upholstered back of the hutch...

A buffalo check for the back of the kitchen chairs...

The same check as the upholstered hutch is on this stool.. (I must admit, I think the check is too boring here, and I'm switching to an awesome fabric with a little more whimsy ~ wait until you see!)

And yet another check on these counter stools ~ more of a green hue blending nicely with the island color...

Moving into the living room, there's a silk check on this chair cushion with a charming pillow to match… (and a painted checkered chair back!)

A couple checks (six to be sure) are represented in the master bedroom. The skirted table has a large silk check. (1)

The gold fabric on the bed skirt and shams is a tiny taffeta Pierre Deux check. (2)

A Schumacher buffalo check in a warm cocoa color is on the bed panels. (3)

As well as this settee...

A smaller green check is featured on this little french chair…(4) Plus, it's hard to tell, but that green fabric on the pillow is a teeny tiny check! (5)

Next up, the gray check on the back of these cameo pillows. (6) I wasn't sure where I was going to put these pillows when I ordered them, and they look great in several places, but I do love them on my bed. 

I mean the carpet could almost pass as a check, but I won't go there... (7?)

I am still waiting patiently for the slipcovers for my dining room chairs. I've mentioned them in past posts, and they feature the same check fabric shown on the cameo pillows here… What's better than a check to take the formal edge off and give a more relaxed, homey feeling? Also, a check will be going on the desk chair in my office, as I work my way down the decorating list. (Why does it seem like the list is growing instead of shrinking?)

A check fabric works with almost any decor ~ smart and charming and a little bit of fun.
