another ira?
Yes, another Ira Yeager painting for me! I have to say, one of the very best things about this blog is the connections it brings about.
A few weeks ago, I got an email asking if I'd be interested in seeing an Ira Yeager painting for sale from a personal collection. I quickly and diligently responded that I was not in the market for a new painting, but of course I'd love to see an Ira Yeager... I wouldn't pass up that opportunity!
Well, as it turns out, this painting has been around since the 1980's, it's very large, the predominant color happens to be the mossy green color of my Pierre Frey fabric, and the gold is the color of my sofa. And it is spectacular. And I bought it.
Let's start with my first Ira Yeager... It is my favorite thing in my living room, possibly my house. I seriously love it.
Remember, I don't have a lot of wall space, and one would think finding a spot for an 8 foot painting would not be easy. But I happen to have a weird spot at the top of my stairs... perfect for a beautiful large painting!
Although I wish it was in a more visible location, I do love that green at the top of the stairs, and the lovely dress of gold is perfect with the Fortuny fabric of the same hue on my sofa.
Love that distinctive treatment Ira uses around his paintings!
I wonder how I'll acquire my third Ira Yeager...
