inspired home: architectural inspiration part 5

Part 5

Basement and Upstairs

The word basement doesn't typically evoke images of beauty in my mind. This basement, presented in this fifth installment of this inspired home, is not that kind of basement. Shall we?

Now, back on the first floor, let's go upstairs...

But first, on our way to the staircase, these doors beautifully incorporated into the wall, really jumped out at me. Apparently, they were a fluorescent lime green when found. A man who specializes in this type of work agreed to carefully remove the lime green paint so as not to upset the delicate carving. Lo and behold, under the paint was a surprise. Ha! This is the oldest kid's room. It's up a staircase behind a secret panel in the wall on the second floor... very cool.  He's going back to school and I had to laugh with his stuff on the floor... love it! Now this is something I can relate to!
