mdd inspiration

I've already told you about my obsession with Mary Douglas Drysdale... (here) SHE IS AMAZING, and one of my favorite designers without a doubt. I recently spent a fair amount of time on her Facebook, stalking like no other, and shamelessly copying photos to my desktop. The inspiration I get from these images is embarrassing.

I am in awe of Mary's command of color. Here, she uses a beautiful baby blue and white, a stunning example of her use of soft colors...

I'm in love with this custom stenciled armoire... Mary designed this painted piece and I've spotted it in several spaces ~ keep your eyes peeled for more...

Here's that same gorgeous french blue piece in the kitchen... love it with the lime green tops of the bottles.

Apple green is a recurrent color in Mary's design work.

Mixed with blue, it's spectacular!

Another custom stenciled secretary...

She is the master of vignettes...

I adore her use of tangerines!

My favorite stenciled secretary in tangerine!

When it comes to using vibrant color, Mary is not a chicken and I LOVE it!

I'm certain this room was designed well before Tangerine Tango was named the color of the year. Ahead of her times is Mary Douglas Drysdale...

In complete contrast with her unbridled use of color, her spaces can also take on a stark look... and are equally stunning.

Check out this bathroom...

"Bathroom" sounds like Hee Haw and is not at all appropriate for this kind of intense fancy.

Another example of neutrals...

Sort of like dining in Heaven?

I really love this kitchen.

I want those plates behind the sink!

Her talents are not only for indoors...  Check out these stunning patio images...

A remarkable designer indeed. I wish she would publish a book! Hopefully it's on her to-do list.
