The French Tangerine

inspired home... laurie and charles

I don't usually include the man's name in the post title when doing an inspired home, but in this case, since Charles has developed a bit of a following thanks to my posts (here and here) on the duo, it seemed fitting...

Their home is just as you would expect - totally cool and hip, full of art - their art, their children's art, their friends' art... and one thing is for certain, every single piece has special meaning. Exotic travels are also well-represented throughout their charming home, most significant is France.

LOVE the couple's work on this wall... Laurie's piece hangs over the piano... and a collection of Charles' stills are just to the left...

The dining room is a small museum. Miles, the oldest and only son, took this photo of Laurie and Charles in Paris... are they not the absolute cutest?

Yep, she's a francophile! Who else would think to cover dining room chairs with the french flag?

I mean, they are going to have to add some walls to this house! I could spend hours examining each photograph and each work of art!

Upstairs, the walls continue to be artfully spotted with favorite photographs and special drawings and paintings...

I dropped my camera and had a quick scare with the flash... but couldn't leave these images out!

Laurie's closet is amazing.

Laurie and Charles added their closet and bathroom onto their house... quite the addition! It's nothing short of spectacular. Behind Charles' mirror hangs a life size photo of Laurie. Behind Laurie's mirror hangs a life size photo of Charles. They are just too much, aren't they?

A pristine space with natural light pouring in from all sides and from above...

Laurie is a straight up super model.

The lighting and shadows and reflections were fabulous in person, but are not graciously portrayed here due to my photography skills (or lack thereof.) I did the best I could... with the professional photographer watching all the while.

Even the laundry room is artistic and clever... never a dull moment I tell you!

So there you have it my friends. I just adore this couple. They are charming and their house reflects their personality and originality, doesn't it? Thank you Laurie and Charles for humoring me, allowing me to "photograph" your lovely home. Laurie was totally cool and didn't laugh out loud when I showed up with my pop-up flash automatic camera that requires literally no talent whatsoever to use. I have to think that I'm not a horrible picture taker... I am able to aim for the pretty and crop out the ugly... but it was a bit unnerving photographing a professional photographer's home!

Thank you for sharing your home and for being so gracious.
