As I've mentioned before, I'm not into tons of Christmas decorations. I have a few things I pull out, less and less really, each year. I do love a beautiful Christmas tree - real - with beautiful ornaments.

Upon returning from Mexico, I took advantage of the nice weather and got my lights up outside, added a few bows, reworked my wreath, and just in time... the temperatures around these parts are dropping drastically and rumors of snow are swirling...

Last year, I found this charming holiday ribbon on clearance for practically nothing... I was glad to have it this year!

At the end of last year, the lights had burnt completely out on my ten year old wreath... They were so entwined with the artificial greenery, I had to cut them out! I added new lights, made a new bow with the clearance ribbon, and added some red berries at the top... good enough for me!

Added lights and a bow to the topiary in front...

and on the back patio...

I used stored sticks and berries and eucalyptus from past arrangements and created a slightly weird but completely free of charge red ensemble... good enough for me!

From inside...

I actually detest poinsettias... I just think they are so ugly! However, while at Mulhall's, I noticed different varieties of poinsettias set up on different tables. These were a "burnt orange" variety, and although they look red as red can be here, they are a bit more orange in person and the prettiest I've ever seen - especially in my house... (Regular red is not great in my house.)

Oh, and my favorite thing I did was add moss and broken berries to the tiered tole piece I never know what to do with...

I found those berries in the bottom of a bag that housed the berries for my outside pots... they had fallen off! Good enough for me!

I've had these three nutcrackers for years and think they are so charming!

Another nutcracker...

I love my Mackenzie-Childs tree... I actually left it out all year- I couldn't put it away! I got it for Christmas from my parents last year... a special gift after I helped them move.

I just love these reindeer! They're like Chia pets with ivy! I added the bows - that ribbon came in handy!

Stockings...

I picked up these tiny little wooden angels at the antique mall in St. Louis with my sister-in-law Nina a few months ago...

And good ol' wobbly Santa... The kids have been spinning this guy around for years at the kitchen counter...

 On to the Christmas tree...
