napa valley

So my hubby and I planned a quick trip to get away from the hustle and bustle and craziness that is our life. Well, I planned, and he begrudgingly came along. It's hard to pull ourselves away, but always worth it!

We had just one wine tasting each day. The first, Joseph Phelps Vineyards, definitely set the mood for the entire trip. Sunny and 70 degrees, spectacular views... Oh, and the wine was amazing.

Our hotel, Calistoga Ranch is not unlike camp for adults... really luxurious and extravagant camp.

Loved that moss on the trees!

Each morning, we hiked on one of the trails on the property. Talk about renewing your mind and feeling at one with the earth... 50 degrees and gorgeous scenery, combined with the 2 hour time difference... I was ready to go at 5am!

On the way to the pool and work out facility...

There's something a bit unnerving about showering outdoors in broad daylight. Being completely naked with this much natural lighting... let's just say I was a bit self-conscious. I think I prefer the comfort of my dark and private shower where every blemish, every flaw (I have more than a few) is not on display. Two squirrels and a bird were staring... and judging. That's just too much for me.

Relaxation was not hard to come by... especially when my cell got NO SERVICE. I'm talking zero bars...

But with these views, who needs a phone?

My next three posts will be devoted to this Napa Valley trip. You can plan on seeing stunning images from Swanson Vineyards, Napa Vintage Home, and Chateau Montelena, all favorite haunts of mine!
