letter from camp

I was prompted to share this after reading this post over at Pretty Pink Tulips... A precious post about her son's special homecoming from camp (to his mom's gourmet cooking!) Anyway, you may remember my recent post filled with photos of Brookes for his birthday. Well, while perusing those photos, I came across this letter from camp... from 14 years ago. Brookes was 5 and this was his first visit to camp for a week. Notice the stationary... probably not something he would use today. Brookes was not at all the type of child who would dream of his mom's "gourmet meals" while at camp. I'm not sure he thought of any of us at all! (Except, apparently, Grammy and Poppy.)

So, here's the letter. (If this, in fact, can be classified as such.) Translation follows. Handwriting has improved somewhat.

Translation:

Dear Grammy and Poppy, The cabin is cool. I like chicken nuggets.

 Love, Brookes

Not at all like the superfluous writing of his mother...

No fluff. Succinct and to the point.

Can you imagine?

Subscribers and Followers,

The house is cool. I like lamps.

 Love,

The French Tangerine
