The French Tangerine

habersham

For the third installment of the low country series, we visit Habersham, a small community in Beaufort.

My dear friend Ann built a lovely home in Habersham and spent an entire year planning every detail... and I mean every detail. She is looking forward to opening a shop, Pearls Before Noon, sometime this Fall.

(1. I can confirm without question there will be plenty of awesome antique and vintage finds, and 2. I can not wait for it to open!)

The Habersham community is as quaint as they come... porches on almost every home invite passers to stop and visit, the mail is picked up at the mail center in "town" encouraging neighborly interaction, and golf carts are driven around in place of cars... easy going, super friendly, and absolutely charming.

Near the entrance, more fabulous trees that say low country like nothing else... Another hazy day... super hot and super humid!

I got a bit carried away with the tree photographs. They are just breathtaking and I feel like I'm Ansel Adams... just shooting away like a regular professional! I could take pictures of those trees all day! Take a look at these lovely homes...

See the gas lanterns? Love.

I remembered this pink and green home and requested a drive-by... the trees in front cover up how adorable it is...

Also an option, these charming townhomes.

In addition to the sole alligator who resides in the pond, wildlife is seen on a regular basis...

And please, don't ever use the 's' word while in low country (swamp)... Marsh is the proper and preferred vocabulary... My goodness, we must know and use the appropriate language. (I only made this mistake once)

This is the house across the side street from Ann. I kept saying it reminded me of Madeline's house. As in, "In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines..."

I had to look it up to confirm my sanity... I couldn't copy the actual page from the book on Amazon, but here are a few images I found that prove I am in fact, not completely crazy...

From Madeline's house, this is the view of Ann's house... quite impressive! I especially love the light yellow paint and the green tin roof- not as vibrant here as in person, such a hazy day...

And here's the front. As you can see, Ann didn't miss a single detail.

So lucky, because here's what's across the street in front of her house...

Next, we'll go inside Ann's home for an inspired home post... the last post in the low country series...

Here's the view standing at her front door... can you imagine?
