dream on
I want this...
really bad. Isn't it gorgeous? I know. I love it so much. There are a couple of problems that come to mind as I fantasize about this in my bedroom... Let's break it down.
First of all, I already have an armoire in the spot this would go in and there isn't anything particularly wrong with it. it doesn't require replacement for any reason whatsoever. I adore Tara Shaw and pretty much anything with that name attached to it is a safe bet for charming and beautiful. So it's not surprising that I found this magnificent antique on the Tara Shaw website. However, this is not from the "Maison" category which represents the reproduction side of her business... incredible reproductions, I might add. Here's a little something I love from Tara Shaw Maison... This darling chair is a wonderful reproduction with all the charm and detail of a real antique. I would love to put my husband's and my initials on a pair... with a french fabric...
I digress. Back to the problems. The to-die-for armoire is not from the Maison collection. It is not a reproduction... it's the real deal, an authentic antique.
Which brings me to the punch line.... This 18C Tuscan Armoire with exquisite Neoclassical Painting is priced at $49,958. I'm not sure how Tara Shaw came up with the 958 there at the end... I mean, let's face it, the thing is going to cost you 50 grand... who's kidding who here? Now, I am not saying this piece is not worth every penny of that 50 grand, but it is not going to happen in my lifetime. But, wouldn't it be gorgeous if say, it was in the Maison collection, it was reasonably priced, and my current armoire was damaged in a freak accident? Yes, it would.
Let's do this together....
Imagine this armoire:
In place of the one below.
It would change the whole feel of the room... 100% French Charming...
